Middleton

Built during the reign of Henry VI, before he was ousted from the throne during the Wars of the Roses in 1461, Middleton Castle is lowering its drawbridge to tourists for the very first time.

Guests can now take advantage of this incredible property for days, weeks or even months, under the careful management of ALTIDO (now part of the Joivy Group).

Middleton Castle is a sympathetically restored, Grade I listed building and proudly stands three miles outside King’s Lynn. Its impressive contemporary interior comfortably sleeps 30 guests across 15 bedrooms with accommodation that includes two separate cottages — The Lodge and Keepers Cottage — making it an ideal choice for large groups, corporate retreats and weddings… or those who just want to live like a king!

Steeped in history and set within the beautiful West Norfolk countryside, guests looking for a unique place to stay can enjoy freestanding baths, a billiards room, summer house, croquet lawn and a sweeping driveway whilst being guaranteed total privacy with exclusive use of the estate.

This impressive 15th century lodging sits alongside other landmark properties in ALTIDO’s portfolio, which includes Gilmerton House in Scotland and Galleria in Milan.

A WORD WITH THE PROTAGONISTS

Will Parry, CEO of ALTIDO, comments: “We’re delighted to be opening the doors of this historic property. A castle of such proportion and size offers guests a luxurious, secluded retreat that doesn’t compromise when it comes to character and space. Our team will be using all their expertise to combine modern-day hospitality with a property that’s so old it predates the Tudors.”
